Why not offer a shimenawa (sacred rope) at your household shrine?
Our thoughts
[We want to protect Japan's prayers and culture]
The history of prayer that the Japanese people have woven together is now at a crossroads.
Amazingly, the area cultivated for domestic hemp and the number of people involved in its production have plummeted by a staggering 99.9% in the last few decades. Currently, there are only a handful of hemp farmers left throughout the country who are upholding this tradition.
The shimenawa ropes and bell ropes of Shinto shrines, as well as the domestically produced hemp that supports the Shinto rituals of the Imperial Family, are symbols of the very spirit of the Japanese people. We want to protect this outstanding technology and culture! It is with this sentiment that we are engaged in projects that "connect cultures."
Service details

Direct sourcing from hemp farmers
We source our refined hemp directly from hemp farmers with whom we have individual contracts.

We will come to your desired location.
Our professional instructors will visit your company, home, or any other location of your choice to teach you how to make Shimenawa (sacred straw ropes). You can also learn about the history and current state of domestically produced hemp, and we will create a customized program to meet your needs, including the creation of hemp accessories.
The duration varies depending on the size of the sacred rope, the number of participants, and the program content, but it is generally around 2 to 3 hours.
Let's tie the sacred rope together as a family and as employees, and then place it in the household shrine.
It also helps to revitalize communication.

Making Shimenawa (sacred ropes) from refined hemp
We will be making shimenawa (sacred ropes) from refined hemp, a material not usually seen. The process of tanning the hemp, which shines with a platinum-like luster, is calming, and the knotting process fosters a sense of unity.

Shrine maiden's ritual of worship at the altar (optional)
We offer a service where a shrine maiden performs the rituals for setting up your household shrine upon request.
